Is it only for elementary teachers?

Is the design on both sides of the mug?

Yes. The design is printed on both sides, so it faces out whether the mug is held in the left hand or the right.

About this design

Teachers start the year with three hundred pencils. By October there are four left, and the teacher knows where every one of them is. This design gives official credit for a skill no education degree mentions.

A classic yellow pencil with a pink eraser and a silver ferrule sits tilted at the top, freshly sharpened. Below it, a red rubber-stamp box with a worn, inked look reads “PROFESSIONAL” over “PENCIL FINDER,” and “TEACHER LIFE” runs underneath in plain dark capitals.

The mug sits on the teacher's desk, which is also where half the missing pencils turn up.

Who it's for

First day of school, Teacher Appreciation Week, the last day before summer: any of them works. It's a fun gift for an elementary teacher, a substitute who deserves a raise, a classroom aide or a teacher friend at Christmas.
